Chair in Burns and Wound Care
HSC Foundation has committed to raise $2 million towards the $3 million total required to create an Endowed Chair in Burns and Wound Care at HSC.
The creation of this Chair will further HSC’s reputation as a leader in complex patient care and translational research, and excellence in the treatment of burns and wound care in Manitoba. The mandate of the Chair will be to perform and facilitate research in the fields of burns and wound care, scarring and scar management.
“The treatment and support of burn survivors is what the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund is all about,” said Martin Johnson, Chair and Co-Founder, Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund. “We are proud to play a role in the future of world-class burn and wound treatment and research, right here in Manitoba.”
On June 11, 2010, HSC Foundation announced a $1 million pledge gift from the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund toward the Endowed Chair in Burns and Wound Care at HSC.
“This milestone gift from the Manitoba Firefighters Burn Fund is a significant step toward the $3 million goal for the Chair in Burns and Wound Care,” said Sally Flintoft, President and CEO, HSC Foundation. “We are thankful and proud to have Manitoba’s firefighters with us as we move forward with this project.
